Magellan 315 & 320 Aviation Database Updates

The Jeppesen aviation database provided by Magellan has not been updated since 2000 and it is no longer being supported by Magellan.

Tony Green has compiled an Australian waypoint database which he has converted to a form useable by the Magellan 315/315A & 320 handheld GPSs. This database includes over 2,000 unlicensed airstrips and over 1,500 helicopter landing sites not found in ERSA or other GPS databases.

He has now also created a New Zealand waypoint database which includes all airports/airstrips found in the NZ AIP, plus some private airstrips, IFR waypoints and VFR waypoints.

He endeavours to check the contents of the databases against various sources, however, you should always check the accuracy of any data yourself before using it. If you find any errors or omissions he would appreciate it if you would let him know.

To load a database, you must have Magellan DataSend installed on your PC and have a Magellan PC Data Cable to connect your GPS receiver to your PC. If you don't have the DataSend software and the Data Cable, Pilot Communications will load the data for you free of charge and usually while you wait. To contact Pilot Communications about this option phone 07 5485 3016 or email picom@tpg.com.au .

The databases are contained in ZIP files which we can email to you by CLICKING HERE.
